The property management firm contacted the insurance adjuster to fill a claim. The insurance adjuster prepared an estimate for the hail damage after visiting the site. The property manager then called in Reconstruction Experts to review the estimate to confirm that the adjuster had included everything for the roof repair. At that time, Reconstruction Experts visited the site to complete our own site visit to confirm the adjuster’s scope. Upon arriving to the site, we noticed on two of the buildings the structural integrity of the roof was being compromised. We accessed the attics of the buildings and discovered the roof trusses were inadequate and causing a serious life safety issue. With a certain amount of weight, that snow would cause, the roofs could collapse. We quickly put a temporary solution together for the city to review as the buildings were being ready to get condemned due to the life safety issues, that allowed the residents to safely stay in their homes. We assisted the HOA through the process of working with their insurance company and were able to negotiate with the insurance company on behalf of the HOA to repair the structural issues as well as the re roof the entire project.
